Welcome to the 10th Mountain Division Descendants, Inc. website. The 10th Mountain Division Descendants exists to preserve and enhance the legacy of the WWII 10th Mountain Division and 10th Mountain Division (LI) for future generations.
If you are interested in helping to preserve the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division, please join our organization to help us accomplish this goal.
A trailer full of 10th Mountain WWII equipment has been stolen in Colorado! The 10th Mountain Division Living History Group has kept nearly all of the equipment that they’ve acquired over the years in an enclosed trailer that was recently stolen in Colorado. Click HERE if you want to read a CBS Colorado report on the theft.
Even though it was insured and it is reported that the trailer has been recovered, the items in the trailer are priceless, and will require time and money to replace them. A GoFundMe page has been set up to secure funds for that effort. Click HERE if you would like to help out.
The Illinois based Park Ridge Historical Society is sponsoring a screening of the Italian mini-series about the exploits of 10th Mountain Division in Italy in WWII. Admission is free, but you must register for this event at: www.1945mountainmen.tv/en-us. For more information, check out the Chapter News page on this website.
We invite all Descendants to submit a photo of their 10th veteran to be posted here. Please send your photos to Ron Sawdey (ron.sawdey@10thmtndivdesc.org) with the name and unit of the veteran as well as a brief description of the photo.

Episode 8Gear Heads, Part 1 is the first segment of our two-part mini-series that examines the equipment, clothing and food developed, at great expense, for the 10th Mountain Division. Not only did this development make the soldiers’ ability to train for cold-weather and mountain offensives like Riva Ridge possible; post-war, it catalyzed the explosive growth of America’s nascent outdoor recreation industry as well.
