Since 1963, every three years, veterans and descendants of 10th Mountain Division return in Italy to visit the places that soldiers have crossed and the battlefields where they fought between January and May 1945.
Sightseeing itineraries in Italy starting from the cemetery in Florence, to honor the 998 soldiers who died in Italian battlefields on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines ridges, continue in the villages of the high Apennines between Bologna and Modena - on the border of Tuscany - from Lizzano in Belvedere and Gaggio Montano to the shores of Lake of Garga. Even Iola and in particular the museum, after the official recognition by the Association of Descendants of the 10th Mountain Division took place in September 2010, were included in the places visited by the itinerary of the tours.
